Description

This is an aisled barn dating from around 1600, located approximately 20 metres northeast of Gunce's Farmhouse in Great Yeldham. The barn is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of corrugated iron. It consists of six bays arranged in a northwest-southeast direction, featuring two midstreys on the southwest side. The structure includes jowled posts, heavy studs, and arched braces supporting the tiebeams and arcade plates. The arcade plates have edge-halved and bridled scarfs, and the roof has clasped purlins with curved wind-bracing present only in the southeast half.
