Description
Stocks is a house that features elements from the 18th century, though it may have an earlier origin. The building is primarily timber framed and has a rough rendered finish, with red brick facing on the return wall. It has a half H-plan layout and hipped roofs covered with red plain tiles, which have a moulded eaves cornice. There are red brick chimney stacks on both the right and left returns. The house is two storeys high and has a five-window range, featuring small paned vertically sliding sashes with thick glazing bars and moulded surrounds. There are pentice boards above the ground floor windows. The central entrance has a six-panelled door, and it is sheltered by a leaded concave tent porch supported by double columns, which has an ornately scalloped cornice. To the right, there is a small single-storey extension with a red tiled roof and one small paned casement window.
