Description
This building is a house and shop, located adjacent to the Post Office Stores, and dates from the 16th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame and has plastered walls, topped with red plain tiled roofs. Two red brick chimney stacks are visible from the road, with the one on the right featuring square attached shafts.
The building has a complex plan, with a front range that includes gabled two-storey crosswings projecting forward of the central block, which has a flat-headed dormer. The roofs of the crosswings extend to the center, creating a single-storey flat roof between them. The ground floor features four 20th-century shop windows, while the right crosswing has a three-light 20th-century casement window.
Set back to the right of this range is a two-storey and attic gabled section, which has one window range of vertically sliding sash windows and a vertically boarded door to the right. There are also wings at the rear of the building.
