Description
Largess Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse located on Gestingthorpe Road in Belchamp Walter. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a gabled peg tile roof. It has one storey with attics and features three gabled dormers on the front roof slope. An off-centre ridge line stack is shaped in an 'L' plan form. The windows include a mix of 20th-century and 19th-century casements, each with three rectangular panes. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension. The interior includes a former open hall with a 17th-century inserted floor and a small inglenook stack. The bridging joist is supported by unusual 18th-century inverted hanging knees, and there is a 19th-century corner cupboard.
