Description

125 and 127 Newland Street is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house featuring four gables on the front. The building has undergone significant alterations and renovations in the 20th century. It is two storeys high and has a four-window range of 20th-century three-light casements. The entrance to No 125 is accessed by steps with iron handrails, while No 127 features a Victorian gabled porch with ornamental bargeboards and spiral cast iron columns. The roofs are tiled, and there is a restored chimney stack with two diagonal shafts. Inside, No 127 retains an original staircase with turned balusters, and No 125 has remnants of an original staircase. The properties at Nos 117 to 129 (odd) are part of a group with No 118 and Nos 124 to 128 (even).
