Description

Rolph’s Farmhouse is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house located on Boars Tye Road in Silver End. The house features a cross wing to the northwest, which is two storeys high, and a main block that is one storey with attics. It has a four-window front with double-hung sash windows featuring glazing bars, set within flush-cased frames. A central entrance has a six-panel door topped by an open pediment. The roof is tiled and includes three flat-headed dormers, and a 17th-century chimney stack with three diagonal shafts. The house was renovated during the 20th century.
