Description
Nunnery Farm is a barn dating from the 17th to 18th century, located adjacent to the road and north of the farmhouse. The barn is timber framed, with red brick and weatherboard cladding. It features a half-hipped corrugated iron roof on the east side and a lower range with a pantile-clad roof on the west. The southern elevation has two gabled midstreys that are weatherboarded, while the northern face, which is adjacent to the road, is clad in red brick and includes two full-height vertically boarded doors and a loft door. There are 17 vertical ventilator openings and two blocked ventilators on the right side. The barn consists of nine bays, some with arched braces and some with hanging knees supporting the tie beams. It has a queen post side purlin roof construction and through bracing to the walls. The floors are made of on-edge brick for threshing. This barn is part of a farm group.
