Description

106 and 108 Nunnery Street are two cottages that date back to the 17th century or earlier, with some later alterations. They are constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, featuring some painted brick facing. The cottages have red plain tiled roofs and are two storeys high, arranged in an L-plan. There are three red brick chimney stacks. The first floor has two windows, while the ground floor has one window, all of which are various casements. The left and right returns have 20th-century part glazed doors. Inside, the cottages have heavy bridging joists and some exposed timber, along with a central newel for the staircase. At one time, these cottages were used as the village workhouse.
