TL 7240-7340 RIDGEWELL STAMBOURNE ROAD 6/29 Essex Hall Farmhouse TL 73 NW 5/29 II

Lobby-entrance house, early C17, extended in C19 and C20. Timber framed, plastered with facade of yellow brick, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 4 bays aligned approx. E-W with. axial chimney stack in second bay from E and external chimney stack at W end. Aspect S. Rear extension from W end, C19, and single-storey extension to W of it, C19. C20 extension in NE gable. S facade of yellow brick, Flemish bond, with simple rusticated giant pilasters, late C19/early C20. Tiled gabled porch, 3-window range of double-hung sashes of 6 lights. Plain-chamfered beams with lamb's tongue stops. Moated site. RCHM 6.
