Description
Limbourne Park Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber frame with plaster and a facade made of gault brick in Flemish bond, topped with a roof of handmade red clay tiles. The 17th-century section runs east to west, while the 18th-century section at the west end faces west and includes two rear stacks, creating an L-shaped plan. There is an 18th-century extension at the left rear corner, which has an internal stack near the back. A 20th-century lean-to conservatory is located on the right side.
The house has a five-window range of 18th-century sashes with 12 lights, made with crown glass. The central entrance features a six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed, set within a simple flat-roofed porch. The building is topped with a dentilled parapet and has hipped roofs. Inside, the 17th-century range includes one stop-chamfered transverse beam, another beam that is boxed in, and a clasped purlin roof. The front block contains a late 18th-century staircase with stick balusters, a wreathed rosewood handrail inlaid with a six-pointed star, and fretted tread-ends. The farmhouse is situated on a moated site.
