Description
Clock House Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is timber framed and roughcast rendered, with a roof covered in handmade red clay tiles and slates. The 17th-century section faces north, while a parallel 19th-century range is located to the south. The building has a rectangular plan and is two storeys high.
On the north elevation, the ground floor features three sash windows with 12 lights; one is from the early 19th century, while the others are from the late 19th century. The first floor has three early 19th-century sashes with 12 lights made of crown glass, along with two 20th-century casements. Notably, the left upper window retains crown glass in every pane, which is a rare survival and deserves special care.
The entrance includes an early 19th-century six-panel door with a cast iron fanlight that features guilloche and garland tracery, all set within a dentilled open pediment. The rendering on the north range is applied over weatherboarding, and the roof of the south range is slated. Inside, there is a chamfered axial beam with lamb's tongue stops, and plain joists with a vertical section.
