Description
Shetlocks Farmhouse is a lobby-entrance house from the 17th century that was extended in the 19th century. It is timber framed, roughcast rendered, and weatherboarded, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The building has four bays that are aligned approximately northeast to southwest, featuring an axial chimney stack in the second bay from the northeast, which forms the lobby entrance. The farmhouse was extended to the southwest by about 2 meters in the 18th century.
At the rear, there is a parallel brick range from the 19th century, which includes a gabled northwest wing opposite the lobby entrance, with chimney stacks located in the northern angle and at the southwest end. There is also a lean-to extension with a catslide roof in the northern angle. The farmhouse is two storeys high.
On the southeast elevation, there is a six-panel door with the upper two panels glazed, sheltered by a shallow hood from the early 19th century. The front elevation features a three-window range of late 19th century double-hung sash windows. The front is roughcast rendered, while the southwest end is weatherboarded, and the gable is covered with handmade red clay tiles. Additionally, there are two 19th century cast iron casement windows in the rear wall on the ground floor. The interior includes lamb's tongue stops on beams, some of which are boxed in, and a joggled butt-purlin roof that reuses some smoke-blackened medieval rafters.
