Description
Willow Cottage is a pair of cottages dating from around 1800 that have been converted into one house. The building has been altered and extended in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with roughcast render and is roofed with handmade red clay tiles. The structure consists of four bays aligned east-west and includes two axial chimney stacks. There are single-storey lean-to extensions to the north, as well as a two-storey crosswing to the west and a single-storey lean-to extension to the north of it, both added in the 20th century. At the eastern end, there is a porch that is also from the 20th century. The house is single-storey with attics, except for the crosswing. On the ground floor, there are five 20th-century casement windows and a halved door. The first floor has two 20th-century casement windows and three gabled dormers with 20th-century casement windows. The frame is partly exposed internally, with no jowls and primary straight bracing. The roof was probably thatched originally. The building is listed for its group value.
