Description

No. 22 High Street is a building that was originally a shop, now converted into a house. It dates from the mid-17th century and features a timber frame that is plastered, with a roof covered in 20th-century interlocking concrete tiles. The building is currently two storeys high, but the front bay was originally a single-storey tailor's shop built around 1636. It has a one-window range of early 19th-century sash windows with 16 lights. The entrance includes a half-glazed door set in a small pedimented doorcase with a moulded architrave. The roof is hipped, and much of the timber frame is exposed on the interior.
