Description

Belle Couture is a house that has been converted into a shop and residence. It dates from the 18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber framed, mostly covered in plaster, and has a roof made of handmade red plain tiles. It features three bays facing northwest, with a central axial stack made of gault brick near the left end. The building adjoins No. 142 (The White House) at the right end.

At the rear right, there is a 19th-century lean-to extension with a slate roof, and along the rest of the rear, there is a 20th-century flat-roofed single-storey extension. The main structure is one storey high with attics. It includes one 19th-century splayed bay window with sashes arranged in a 2-6-2 light configuration, a 20th-century shop window, and a half-glazed door from the 20th century. There are also two late 19th-century sashes with six lights in flat-roofed dormers. The building has a gambrel roof that is half-hipped at the left end.

The left side of the building has a painted brick finish on the ground floor only. The rear elevation features a triple casement window with three semi-circular heads, along with three 19th-century casements in dormers, one of which is a lean-to while the others have segmental roofs. There is a plain boarded rear door.
