Description

This barn, dating from the 16th century, is located approximately 20 metres east of Sewells Farmhouse in Belchamp Otten. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, featuring a roof clad in corrugated asbestos. The barn has been restored and consists of three aisled bays; one bay is open up to the top plate level, while the other two have stable doors. The walls are supported by through bracing, and it has a side purlin roof construction. The front elevations include tusk tenons.
