Description
Catley Farm outbuildings, located approximately 6 metres to the rear and west of the house, consist of an attached range of farm structures dating from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. The buildings form a U shape, enclosing a yard to the west of the house. They are primarily timber framed and weatherboarded, featuring red Roman tiled roofs, except for the north three-bay cartlodge, which has a corrugated iron clad roof.
The south range is single-storeyed, with the eastern three bays enclosed and fitted with a 19th-century small paned window and a side door. There is a two-bay cartlodge supported by a central column and straight bracing. Additionally, there is a nine-bay stable area that includes four stable doors and open bays adjacent to a central barn with a gambrel roof. This barn has full-height double doors and a right lean-to with a pantile roof, some of which are black glazed, and the rear walls are partially plastered. The outbuildings are also noted for their group value with the farmhouse and their prominent position along the main road.
