Description
Clapbridge Farm House is a farmhouse built in the late 17th century to early 18th century. It features a rendered exterior over a timber frame with red brick infill. The roof is half-hipped and covered with 20th-century cement pantiles, and there is a central brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and attics, with two windows on the front. The roof includes a gabled dormer fitted with sliding sash windows. At the time of the survey, there were two 16-pane sash windows that were boarded up.
The central entrance has a doorcase with a moulded architrave and cornice supported by brackets, leading to a mid-19th-century fielded four-panel door. There is an outshut at the rear, which features a plinth and a gabled stair turret. The doorcase at the rear has a flat hood on brackets, moulded architraves, and a plank door with two glazed panels. An exposed section of rendering at the front reveals a reused timber corner post and diagonal braces, along with 18th-century brickwork and lath and plaster. There is a 20th-century flat roof extension that is not considered of special interest. The interior has not been seen.
