Description

35 and 37 London Road are an early 19th century pair of houses built of buff-coloured gault brick, with basements and two storeys. They have a four-window front, featuring double-hung sash windows with glazing bars in plain reveals. The ground-floor windows and doorways are set within semi-circular arches constructed of gauged brick. The outer ends, accommodating a single window and doorway each, and the central section project slightly. A raised brick band delineates the two storeys. The doors are six-panel affairs, each with a semi-circular fanlight incorporating ornamental glazing and quarter columns in the reveals. Stone steps with ornamental iron railings lead to the entrances. The roofs are covered in slate and are hipped.

Nos 19 to 37 (the odd numbers) and Nos 41 to 45 (also the odd numbers) form a cohesive group.
