Description

Blandford House is a late 17th or early 18th century timber-framed and plastered house, likely dating from around 1700. Originally constructed on an L-shaped plan with wings extending to the northeast and southwest, it has undergone alterations and additions in the 18th century and later. The house has two storeys, attic space, and cellars. The northwest front features three windows, while the southwest front has four. A 3-window-range addition extends from the southeast end. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, set within flush cased frames; the windows on the southwest front of the main block have single vertical glazing bars. A central doorway on the northwest front retains an original shell hood supported by carved brackets. A single-storey addition from the 20th century projects on the southwest front. The roofs are tiled, hipped, and incorporate two 19th-century gabled dormers.
