Description
24 High Street is an early 19th century red brick house featuring a yellow brick front. It has a parapet adorned with a stucco modillion cornice and a moulded string course. The building is two storeys high, with attics and a basement. A wide stucco band runs between the storeys and at the plinth level. The front has a three-window range, while the rear has a two-window range, all fitted with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars and are set in plain reveals. The ground storey windows and doorway have semi-circular arched heads within recessed panels, and there is a stucco string course at the impost level. The doorway is topped with a fanlight featuring fan glazing bars. The roof is slate at the front and tiled at the rear, designed as a mansard with a double pitch, and includes three semi-circular headed dormers at the front and two at the rear.
