Description
Dormers is a cottage dating from 1676, with extensions made in the 18th and 19th centuries and a roof that was raised during that time. It is timber framed, plaster rendered, and has a long straw thatch roof. The roof was raised in the 18th or 19th century and features a painted ridge stack. The original layout likely consisted of three bays with a lobby entry. The cottage is one storey high with an attic and includes three dormers, each with 20th-century leaded lights and shutters. The doorway is now located at the northwest end. The cottage has been extended at both ends during the 18th and 19th centuries. Inside, the timber framing is exposed, showing jowled heads on the main posts in the two bays at the southeast end, along with visible evidence of the roof raise and extensions.
