Description

A pair of houses in Meldreth, likely dating from the late 17th century, with extensions to the rear added in the early to mid-19th century and subsequently, arranged axially to the east. The houses are timber-framed, now rendered, with a steeply pitched tiled roof. A red brick ridge stack is present, along with a later single-flue stack on the right-hand house (No. 106). They stand end-on to the road. The houses have two storeys and five first-floor windows, including two 18th-century, three-light iron-frame casements and flush-frame sixteen-pane hung sashes. There are four ground-floor windows, incorporating two 19th-century wood-frame casements and two doorways, one featuring a cut-bracked hood. Applied sham framing is visible, along with two windows to the gable end. Each house has a 19th-century kitchen extension to the rear, covered by a lean-to slate roof. The bay closest to the road was added as a later feature.
