Description

Nos. 219 and 221 on High Street are a villa built around 1860. The structure is made of local gault brick and features a hipped slate roof, along with two symmetrical internal stacks that have cut brickwork in the upper courses. The building has a wood eaves cornice adorned with bracket modillions. It is a double pile, double fronted villa with a symmetrical elevation that includes three recessed four-pane hung sash windows. The ground floor has two similar but slightly larger windows. A central doorway is accessed by four steps and is flanked by a doorcase supported by Ionic pilasters. This doorcase has a plain frieze and a dentil cornice, topped by a pediment formed of S-scrolls.
