Description
No. 52 is a 17th-century cottage located on The Green in Eltisley. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure with a long straw thatched roof, which has a central red brick ridge stack. The cottage is one storey with an attic and follows a two-unit lobby entry plan. There are 20th-century extensions added to the gable ends. The front has a blocked door on the left, a half-glazed panelled door, and two flush-framed hung sash windows, along with two casement dormer windows. A single-storey extension has been added to the rear.
Inside, the visible framing includes chamfered bridging beams, tie beams, and wall plates. There is a partly blocked open fireplace with a bressumer, two winder stairs, and plank doors.
