Description

South View is a row of cottages, originally dating back to the 17th century, which has been significantly altered and remodelled in the 19th century. The building is timber-framed and has been rendered, with a long straw thatched roof at two ridge and eaves levels. Chimneys are located at the ends and ridge. The western part of the building is two storeys and has attics, featuring two gable dormers with iron lattice casements and tiled surrounds. There are three similar casements on the first floor and three at ground floor level. A modern door has been installed. The eastern part of the building is single-storey and attic, also incorporating two similar dormers and casements, along with two casements on the ground floor and a single-light casement. All the windows share a similar style of fenestration.
