Description
Rose Cottage is a house with two building periods, dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The late 18th century section features a timber frame on a brick plinth, rendered and topped with a long straw thatch roof and a small ridge stack. This part of the house is one storey high. The early 19th century addition facing the road has a clay exterior and a low-pitched hipped slate roof, rising to two storeys. The first floor includes two flush frame, twelve-pane hung sash windows. The entrance features an early 19th century doorway with a panelled door. Inside, there is a small brick hearth in the kitchen. The property is also referenced in the Enclosure Award Map of 1823 and the Tithe Map of 1844.
