Description
The outbuilding and stables located south-west of Docwra's Manor date back to the 16th century. It features a timber frame, with parts weatherboarded and rendered, and the section facing the road is underbuilt in gault brick. The building has a tiled roof and consists of a single range with five bays, rising to two storeys. One bay includes an original diamond mullion window on the front wall, with a similar window on the rear wall. Inside, the timber framing is exposed, and the building was originally floored throughout, with visible vacant mortices. The remaining floor is made of substantial scantling, and the joists are plain and laid flat. These joists, along with the arch-braced tie beams, resemble those found in the rear wing of Docwra's Manor, suggesting they were built around the same time. The roof has undergone repairs, but the wind braces to the principal rafters are still visible.
