Description
Yew Tree Cottage is an 18th-century cottage that was extended around 1984. It features a timber frame, rendered exterior, and some clay bat, topped with a long straw thatch roof and an axial red brick ridge stack. The original plan likely consisted of two rooms with a possible lobby entry. The cottage was converted into two separate dwellings in the 19th century and is now a single home. It has one storey and an attic, with a dormer that has a pantiled roof. There are two doorways and windows, all from the mid-20th century. The two-storey extension added in 1984 is on the right side. Inside, the rear wall is framed, while other parts of the cottage have thicker walls indicating a clay bat structure. The inglenook fireplace is made of painted brick, and the main beam and joists are set on edge and chamfered.
