Description
Norgetts Thatch is a cottage dating from the late 18th century. It features a timber frame, roughcast render, and a long straw thatched gabled roof, with 19th-century grey brick stacks at the ridge and end. The building has a three-bay plan, with the original entrance now blocked at the end of the central bay. It is one storey with an attic and includes two dormers. The 19th-century windows consist of four openings, including two sixteen-pane flung sashes, while the doorway has been relocated to the rear. There are also 19th-century additions at the back of the cottage. Inside, the cottage has slender softwood framing and a small inglenook fireplace. In 1842, the cottage was occupied by Henry Chappell and was described as tenements and garden.
