Description

This is an early to mid-18th century timber-framed cottage. The timber frame is now hidden behind plaster rendering, which sits on a brick plinth. The roof is thatched, with gables and chimneys at each end. The farmhouse is one storey high with attics, demonstrated by two 19th-century dormers which have original small-paned horizontal sliding sash windows with sills supported by a pair of brackets. A central doorway is flanked by two 20th-century canted bay windows. Attached to the right is a single-cell kitchen wing, framed, rendered, and partly weatherboarded, with a lower thatched roof. This wing has a 19th-century horizontal sliding sash window with small panes and boarded shutters. A rear outshut extends from the main range. Within the grounds and alongside the road is a 19th-century barn; it is framed, weatherboarded, and has a slated roof.
