Description
Ponders House is a house dating from the early to mid 17th century, with a crosswing addition made in the mid 20th century. It is timber-framed, roughcast rendered, and has a reed thatched roof, featuring an original end stack to the hall range with diagonally set shafts on a square base. The house includes a hall with a parlour and a crosswing at the road end. The hall is two storeys high and has 20th-century casement windows. There is a doorway leading to a stairbay at the end of the hall, which features an original door made of planks with three arched panels in two heights, secured with nail studs. The parlour crosswing is also two storeys and has two bays. Inside, some of the framing is exposed, including down bracing from the principal posts.
