Description

White Cottage is a cottage built in 1671. It features a timber-framed structure that is plaster rendered with combed wheat reed thatch. The cottage has a red brick ridge stack dated 1671 at the base, with rebuilt upper courses. It has a three-bay lobby entry plan, along with a contemporary single bay that projects to the front. The building is one storey high with an attic and includes three modern dormers. The horizontal sliding sashes are from the mid-20th century, and the entry is now located at the projecting bay at the front. Inside, there are abutting inglenook fireplaces and an exposed floor frame with joists laid on edge.
