Description
The Black Horse Public House is a cottage dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, which was extended by one bay in the early 19th century. It features a timber-framed structure rendered on a brick plinth, with a tiled roof and a grey brick square ridge stack. The building has a three-bay layout with a lobby entry plan and is one storey high with an attic. There are two gable dormers and two mid-19th century hung sash windows with twelve panes on either side of the doorway. A later doorway has been added to the left side, and a 19th-century extension is present on the right. The interior has been remodelled, with the rear wall framing removed and a small hearth that is likely a 19th-century replacement for the original inglenook.
