Description

No. 8 Waits is a building dating from around 1782. It is a single storey structure with dormers and features one window. The building has a tiled mansard roof with a gable facing the street. It is constructed of multi-coloured stock brick and has a stone finial on the gable. The windows have gauged flat red brick arches, and the flush sash windows include architraves and original glazing bars, although the ground floor window has been altered. The doorway is also altered, featuring a segmental arch and a panelled door. Above the first-floor window, there is a brick date plaque that reads "Jsil 1782." This building is included for its group value with Nos. 7 to 9, which are consecutive.
