Description
Avenue Farm, located at 138 and 138A St Neot's Road in Eaton Socon, is a building dating from the 17th century, with possible earlier elements from the 18th century. It has an L-shaped plan that includes a farmhouse (No 138A) and a service wing (No 138) along the road. The structure is two storeys high and features gabled dormers. The farmhouse has one window and is topped with old tiled roofs. It is timber framed and plastered, with a brick ground floor. The service wing includes brick nogging. The windows are flush framed sash types with glazing bars, and there is a splayed bay window on the ground floor with a moulded cornice. The doorway has been altered. The service wing has windows and doorways with solid frames. Avenue Farm is part of a group that includes Nos 138, 138A, 140, and the garden wall to the northeast of No 140.
