GLATTON CHURCH ROAD TL 1486 (South-East Side) 13/12 Row of 8 tombstones three metres east of the chancel to the Parish Church of St Nicholas

GV II

Tombstones. C18 and early C19. Limestone slabs. Segmental or shaped heads carved with angel heads and clouds, enriched with swags of fruit and flowers and drapes. Inscriptions, some painted black, on raised plaques of oval, round or diamond shapes. Identified a-h from south to north, a-g: members of Addison family, h: John Fox. These tombstones are representative of a number of good C18 tombstones to the south and east of the Parish Church. Cottrell, D J Monumental Inscriptions 1722-1975. (1978) H.R.O.
