Description
This is a cottage dating to the early 17th century, with alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed and has a roughcast render finish. The roof is thatched and has a tall brick ridge stack built in the 19th century. The cottage is one storey and has an attic, arranged as a three-unit plan. A 20th-century porch has been added to the left, and the windows are largely 20th-century additions, including a bay window and casement windows, with a small window to the right. There are two eyebrow dormer windows in the attic. The interior retains exposed timber framing and floor frames, as well as an open hearth. Historical records include a map of the Manor of Glatton by John Hausted from 1613, and an estate map of Glatton, Holme and Denton from 1770.
