Description
This is a row of 12 tombstones located five metres east of the chancel of the Parish Church of St Nicholas. The tombstones date from the 18th century and mid-19th century and are made of limestone. They feature flat, segmental, and shaped heads, with carvings of angel heads, angels, palms, swags, and draped decorations on plaques of various shapes, including one double plaque with some inscriptions painted black. Two early 18th-century tombstones have round heads and identical rosette decorations. The tombstones are identified from south to north with two outliers; the first group includes members of the Addison family, while the latter includes members of the Isaac family. These tombstones are representative of several notable 18th-century tombstones found to the south and east of the Parish Church.
