Description

Jersey Cottage and the Oliver Cromwell Inn form a single building, dating from the early 18th century. The construction is primarily brick, with an asbestos tile roof and a decorative band separating the ground and first floors. A corbelled brick cornice runs along the top of the building. The first floor features two modern transomed and mullioned windows, along with two late 18th-century oriels – decorative bay windows – each with a dentilled cornice, one oriel having a hung sash window. The entrance door to the cottage is sheltered by a board hood supported on scroll brackets. The ground floor windows of the inn have been altered. A well-preserved wrought iron sign bracket is a notable feature. Jersey Cottage, Oliver Cromwell Inn, No. 9, No. 10 and Ouse Cottage are designated as a group.
