Description

2 Montagu Square is an 18th century timber-framed building that was originally two cottages, each with one window. It has two storeys and a single storey with dormers. The building was refronted in yellow gault brick in 1797, with the bricks marked with the date and monograms "M W", "I W", "A W", and "H C". It features a tiled roof, stucco gables, and a rear facade, along with a brick dentil eaves cornice. The windows are segmental arched Yorkshire sash types, and there is a segmental arched doorway, although the doorway of the southern cottage has been blocked.
