Description
Montague House is a late 18th century building that was refaced in the mid-20th century, reusing the original red brick. It features a modern tile roof and stands three storeys tall. There are stone bands between the storeys and a yellow gault brick dentil eaves cornice that extends up to a pediment above the central projecting bay, which is symmetrically designed. The front has three windows with flat stone arches that include key blocks, except for the middle second-floor window, which has a semi-circular head and is set in an arched recess that rises through the first and second floors. Each side window consists of three lights with sashes and glazing bars. The entrance features an early 20th century Neo-Georgian doorcase with panelled pilasters and a dentilled open pediment, enclosing a patterned radial metal fanlight and a panelled door.
