Description

49 New Road is a house built in 1849, featuring two storeys. It is constructed of yellow gault brick and has a modern tile hipped roof with an end stack on the left side. The front of the house is symmetrical, with three hung sash windows that have glazing bars set in cambered arches on the first floor. On the ground floor, similar windows are located on either side of a central doorcase, which is adorned with pilasters and a plain entablature topped with a moulded cornice. The entrance includes a rectangular fanlight above a four-panelled door. The building also has a moulded eaves cornice.
