Description
Brook House is a house built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from yellow gault brick with a colour washed stuccoed front and has a slate roof. The building is designed in an L-plan with some additions and stands two storeys tall.
The front facade is symmetrical, featuring a projecting central bay and two side bays framed with Tuscan pilasters. It has a moulded cornice topped by a balustraded parapet. The window arrangement consists of two windows, then one, then two again, all of which are sash windows supported by small consoles. The ground floor outer bays and the first floor central bay have moulded cornices and shouldered architraves, while the first floor outer bays have moulded architraves only.
The central entrance is framed by Tuscan pilasters and has a moulded cornice above it. The double doors are part glazed with moulded lower panels and are topped by a rectangular fanlight. There are paired octagonal stacks on both gable ends. To the south, there is a single storey flat-roofed block with a pilaster at the corner. The rear block features sash windows with glazing bars set under rendered flat arches and has a triple octagonal ridge stack.
