Description

The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage dating from the early 18th century, with origins in the 17th century, and was refenestrated in the 19th century. It features colour washed render over brick, with some substantial timber framing visible in the interior of the rear block. The building has a slate roof and a double pile plan, consisting of two storeys and attics, topped with a two-span roof.

On the front elevation, the ground floor has three French windows on the left and a canted bay on the right, also with French windows. The first floor has five flush sash windows without glazing bars, and there are three box dormers with two-light casements. Red brick stacks are present at both gable ends.

The south elevation includes a front doorway set under a segmental arch, flanked by Tuscan pilasters, with a broad fanlight featuring glazing bars and sidelights. The door itself has two flush panels and four fielded panels. The north elevation has two-light casements beneath cambered heads, and there is a substantial brick stack serving the 17th-century hearth at the northeast corner of the east elevation.

Inside, the property retains painted wood panelling in the hallway and fielded panel shutters on the windows. Additionally, there are two parallel one-storey additions from the 19th century that project from the rear.
