Description

The Anchor Public House is a public house dating from around 1700, with a 19th-century addition. The earlier rear wing features color-washed rough cast over a timber frame and has a clay tile roof. It has a three-bay plan and stands two stories high, with 20th-century casement windows and a 20th-century porch. The 19th-century block is made of color-washed brick, has a hipped slate roof with wide eaves, and consists of four bays over two stories, with sash windows on both floors and a 20th-century glazed door. The building is listed for its group value.
