Description
College Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The southeast wing, which is from the 17th century, features colour washed rough cast over a timber frame and has an old clay tile roof with a zigzag pattern. It has a three-bay plan and stands two storeys high, with two three-light wood mullion sash windows that include glazing bars. The central door is made of six fielded panels and has a cut bracketed doorhood, positioned in line with a red brick multiple ridge stack.
The 18th century road front block is constructed of red brick and also has an old clay tile roof. This section has a five-bay facade and rises to three storeys. A cavetto brick band runs along the first floor, and the cornice features cyma reversa, dentil, ovolo, and cyma recta styles. The ground and first floors have sash windows with 19th century glazing bars. The central doorway is adorned with fluted Doric half columns, an entablature that includes guttae and triglyphs, a modillion cornice, and a pediment. The door itself has a fielded panel reveal and is half glazed with four fielded panels. The top floor windows are dummies, with the roof sloping down behind the parapet.
