Description

No. 47 New Road is an early 19th century farmhouse, with a date of 1823 indicated by the guttering. The building is two storeys tall and features a rear outshut. It is constructed of yellow gault brick and has a slate roof with end stacks. The first floor has a range of four hung sash windows that include margin glazing bars. To the left of the centre, there is a doorway set in double-recessed round-headed arches, framed by a reeded architrave. The door is a six-panelled design with a semi-circular fanlight above. To the right of the doorway, there is a canted window with a moulded cornice. The property is complemented by a shaped garden wall that terminates at the corners with piers topped by stone pediment caps.
