Description
Angles Theatre was built as a theatre in 1793. It is constructed from local brown brick and features a hipped slate roof. A modern 20th-century lean-to connects the theatre building to the northeast boundary wall. The structure has two storeys and a basement. The gable facing southeast includes one large eight-paned window and a stage door entrance with a boarded door that is accessed by steps. There is a boarded basement door set in a segmental brick arch. Metal plates remain in place, indicating the positions of scenery. The 18th-century boundary wall has a stone plaque facing the passageway, stating that it replaces an earlier wall to the Castle.
