Description

This is a late 18th-century building, originally used as a theatre. It is constructed of red brick with a brick cornice at the eaves. The front is stuccoed to the top of the first floor and features stucco quoins to the same height. The north gable has a coped end with old tiles, and the roof has small wooden vents. The building is three storeys high with three windows on each floor. The windows are barred sashes, with the top floor windows set within gauged red brick arches. The north side features a pediment and pilasters with a bas relief in the spandrels and between the pilasters, forming the earlier theatre entrance. The south side has a flattened carriageway arch with impost blocks. A through arch connects to a red brick building at the rear, which has a pedimented gable end. This rear building has one Gothic arched window with a stucco band and a round arched door below.
